Bloomberg terminal outage hits traders

Bloomberg, Markets Data and Media Services are facing a wide range of problems that are preventing traders directly and preventing the UK government’s debt auction.

Users complained that the one -year Bloomberg Terminal Service was running with a significant delay and the absence of live price was preventing their business.

“We have been told not to trade. I can’t think of this level non-functional,” said a director of London-based funds.

Another said, “Will you bet in a match that you will not see or know the score,” another said, the result was less than the business.

Disruption to the UK government’s debt auction, the Debt Management Office extends bidding time.

“We hope the auction bidding is close to the bidding window will be at 4.30 in the morning, the problems of the Bloomberg system are being solved,” the DMO said.

Traders said that Bloomberg’s instant messaging service – known as IB – is still working as normal. The company did not immediately respond to the requests for the comment.

Bloomberg Help Desk posted a message on Wednesday at 4.30am, which said: “We are currently feeling a global terminal issue, and our engineering team is actively working to identify and solve the problem.”

“I am sincerely apologizing for the inconvenience, and in the meantime we really appreciate your patience and understanding,” added it.
