Former Democratic Senarica Claire McCaskill said on Monday that Americans are not “smart enough” to keep the president Donald Trump away from the White House.

McCuskill’s comments followed during the panel discussion of MSNBC “Deadline: White House” that focused on concerns about higher prices after the president said that large traders like Walmart should eat tariffs.

“But there is a huge part of Americans who do not know about it, because their algorithms intentionally do not feed them politics because they do not want to hear about it. But you know what everyone will know about? They will know everything about higher prices,” McCaskill continued.
“Everyone will know that they spend more at Walmart than they spent this time last year. Everyone will know that their 401 (k) are lowered. Everyone will know it, and she can’t do anything with that,” she added.

After Trump won the election in November, McCaskill admitted that he was president “Knows our country better” than Democrats.
“I think we have to admit that Donald Trump knows our country better than we do,” McCaskill said. “I think he realized that anger – and honestly, fear – was more powerful than complaints about the better angels of people. That anger and fear would work in this election. Whether you are afraid of immigrants or afraid of people who are trance, he realized that.”
