CBS News president Wendy McMahon abruptly resigns amid Trump lawsuit

CBS News Wendy McMahon President and CEO announced on Monday that she had stepped down in another stunning move for a built -in company, confirmed Fox News Digital.

Her exit is followed by a long -standing producer of “60 minutes” Bill Owens, who stopped last month because he felt he lost journalistic independence in the midst of a legal battle with President Donald Trump.

“Today I am leaving my position by CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures. This was one of the most significant chapters in my career. The leading this extraordinary organization was the honor of all my life, because I had to work with all of you,” McMahon wrote in a correspondence.

“At the same time, she has been challenging for the last few months,” she continued. “It became clear that the company and I disagree around the road forward. It’s time to move on and this organization move forward with a new guidance.”

McMahon’s departure is coming because CBS Paramount Global is in mediation with Trump’s legal team, with the hope of paying a 20 billion dollar lawsuit against the “60 minute interview” last year with President Kamal Harris.

This is a development story, even more so …
