Indy 500 practice turns dangerous as McLaughlin flips car in violent crash

Scott McLaughlin had painful practice experience on Indy 500 on Sunday. His car went into the air after ramming into the wall on the track directly in front of the qualifying for the day.

The wheel on the left suffered visible, severe damage immediately after the impact. The racing line next to the 2 -output exit was left with a noticeable gouge. There were stops in the action and crews were arranged for repairs.

A safer barrier also suffered significant damage.

McLaughlin, last year’s Indy 500 Pol-Sitter, will not participate in fast qualifications. Therefore, McLaughlin will be the official starting position on the Indy 500 network no. 12.
