The CIA has tapped a senior secret case officer who is currently the station chief of the Middle East to conduct its secret activities around the world after the previous nomination candidate is withdrawn.

CIA Director John Retcliffe has chosen a detective operator who has led the deputy director for the campaign as the head of a critical station in a country in the Middle East.

The Financial Times nominated some details about the nominee because he is confidential. People familiar with the choice said the nominee was very popular with the rank-and-file case officers.

The Deputy Director of Operations (DDO) is one of the most important positions in the CIA because the person conducts the secret programs of the agency around the world and oversees the recruitment of spies in China, Russia and beyond. This position is expected to become stronger as the agency intensifies the focus of the Ratcliffe spy.

In his Senate confirmation hearing, Ratecliffe said that “no matter how dark or difficult, no matter how dark or difficult, the intelligence in every corner of the world will collect human intelligence”.

In an example, the CIA recently released Chinese language videos as part of unprecedented online effort Hiring spies in ChinaThe

“Retcliffe is the laser to concentrate on a foreign intelligence collection mission,” a person is familiar with his opinion.

After the new DDO’s choice came, Ratcliffe’s senior case officer asked Ralph Goff to get out of retirement to take the role. However, his name was later withdrawn from the debate. Some people said he was withdrawn because the White House objected to his Ukrainian activities in retirement, but a person emphasized that it was not related to Ukraine.

Under President Donald Trump, the appointment of a new DDO at the top of the US intelligence community is just one change. Early this year, dismissed Trump General Timothy Hug Who was the head of the National Protection Organization – which was responsible for electronic surveillance – and the US military’s cyber command.

Tulsi gabardThe National Intelligence Director, recently removed Michael Collins as the head of the National Intelligence Council, which evaluated intelligence on critical issues based on the information from the American intelligence community.

Critics of removal said that Collins and his deputy were removed due to their role in creating a report that the White House El Salvador used to prove to be equitable to send members of Venezuela’s gangs. Gabbard’s office rejected the suggestion that two officers were removed for intelligence politics.

People familiar with the situation said the appointment of the new DDO is not related to the recently controversial change in the intelligence community. They say that the new CIA directors often chose a new operation to make sure that they could believe that they could believe it because of the sensitive nature of the work.

Some people assumed that the current Deputy Director of the Rateclipfe analysis would also replace the current deputy director. However, a person familiar with the situation said that he wanted to keep the person who was confidential. The person said that one of the reasons to keep the head of the current analysis was that he had a “great relationship” with the arrival DDO.

The CIA has refused to comment.
