Cooper flagg He is one of the most interesting perspectives in the recent NBA history, but says that the hype has not always been there.
The Duke of Duke and the projected number 1 in the upcoming NBA draft said Associated Press This, growing up, was told that he would never achieve his basketball goals.

Very few basketball stars arrived from Maine. Miami Heat player Duncan Robinson was born in Maine, but grew up in New Hampshire and went to the draft 2018.
The most prominent player who left Maine was former Olympic gold medal Jeff Turner, who played for Vanderbilt in the early 1980s and played at the NBA from 1984-96. But he was outside the NBA from 1986-89 while playing in Italy.
Flagg is expected to become the most talented basketball player who has left the state in his history.

Flagg led Duke this season in almost every statistical category, including points (709), jumps (278), assistants (155), theft (52) and blocks per game (1,4). He scored 19.2 points on average, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.4 stolen balls, but his best view was in January when he set ACC’s grinder record with a 42 point against Notre Dame.
Flagg closed the semi -final appearance at the NCAA tournament for a year and was named the winner of the 2025 Naismith Player of the Year award, becoming only the fourth freshman who won the honor.

“It doesn’t matter where you are,” Flagga said on Wednesday in a combination of a combination. “If you have a goal, if you dream and decide to do it … I mean, honestly, for me, it wasn’t really until I was in high school, but I always loved a basketball game.
