The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) announced on Monday that it would dissolve and disarm after more than four decades of rebellion against Turkish state This resulted in the death of over 40,000 people in the hands of PKK militants.

Turkey believes that the YPG Branch of PKK has repeatedly launched military strikes against Syrian Kurds.
