President Donald Trump administration is likely to accept a luxury Boeing 747-8 Jumbo Jet from Qatar’s royal family, in what was the most precious gift received from a foreign government, reported on ABC News on Sunday.
The gift is expected to announce this week, if Trump visits Qatar as part of his east east trip, Abc quotes people saying.
Super Luxury Boeing Co. 747-8 jumbo jet will be used as an Air Force One, people tell the network.
The White House and Department of Justice did not immediately answer ABC request for comment, including if the gift is legal. A spokesman for Qatari Embassy does not respond to requests for commentary, as Abc.
Trump seeks alternatives to replace old Air Force one, after chronic delay by delivering two new plans in his first term. The Air Force this month says BoeingsuggestTo deliver the new version of Air Force one of 2027.
Bloomberg News reports Trump inspected a Boeing Jet in Qatari-owned in West Palm, Florida, in February. At that time, the President told the reporters that he was “unhappy” with Boeing and that his administration thought to do “another.”
“We can go and buy a plane,” said Trump in the days after the jet tour – used by Hamad Bin Jabers Al Thani, in the last decades.
