Pope Leo XIII is often known for writing the first of the great Catholic social encyclicals, Rerum Novarum.

Doyle said that Catholic social teaching is generally engaged in basic human principles on economy and society with an interpretation space.
“I think he’ll be a very balanced pope,” Doyle said.
