Former speaker of the house Nancy PelosiD-Calif., She said on Friday that she hoped that the newly elected Pope Leo XIV, the first American pontif to lead the Catholic Church, would be loud in contrast to mass deportations.

John Prekost, Brother Pope Leosaid the CNN Branch of the WBBM that he thinks his brother is worried about the approach of American immigration.

President Donald Trump made immigration reform to the central part of his campaign, and during the first 100 days of Trump administration, immigration, customs and implementation (ICE) arrested at least 32,809 illegal immigrants and 1,155 individuals thought to be part of the criminal gang. Of the more than 32,000 arrested illegal immigrants, 14,111 were convicted of criminals, and 9,980 were waiting for criminal charges.
Trump on Thursday praised Pope Leo’s choice, saying he was looking forward to meeting him and expressed pride that he was the first American pontiff.
“Such is the honor of realizing that he is the first American pope. What an excitement and what a great honor for our country. I look forward to meeting Pope Leo XIV. It will be a very meaningful moment!” Trump wrote about the truth of Social.
