MLB News: Pirates staffer suspended after whipping fan during fight

“After the conclusion of yesterday’s game, since the last few fans were leaving Balpara, a verbal quarrel between two men’s guests and a female employee followed. The incident followed only a few days after the other fan was seriously injured during the Pirates game in PNC Park.

The organizer of the Gofundme page for Markwood shared on Saturday update to improve.

“After all that has passed since the accident on Wednesday night, this progress does not feel wonderful,” wrote organizer Jennifer Phillips, who once taught Markwood. “He still has a long journey ahead, but today he brought a moment of hope that we all held on.”
