Paige Buueckers She received national attention in the midst of her collegial career with Ucon Huskies when she regretted the lack of coverage that black women received in sports at the 2021 ESPY awards.
Almost four years later, Bueckers remained a belief that black women did not receive enough media reports, adding that she felt that whites had more benefits than marketing opportunities.

“That’s still a problem, every day,” Rookie said of Dallas Wings Time magazine in an interview published on Monday. “There is never the same coverage.”
“There is a white privilege every day I see,” she said in terms of marketing opportunities. “I feel like I was doing extremely tiring, blessed from God. But I think there are more options for me. I feel like just selling, people tend to favor whites, white women. I think it should be the same opportunity. I feel like there is a privilege according to what all white people have.
Bueckers was supposed to be among the next generation of basketball stars to lead WNBA to the future.
The rookie comments echoed what Caitlin Clark She said the magazine Time last year, and what she repeated to Komicar David Letterman in her interview with him.

“I definitely have a privilege,” Clark said on Netflix’s “My next guest does not need an introduction.”
“Obviously I’m white, but I mean … I’m someone who grew up a big fan of this league. I grew up watching this league, going to games, supporting this league. So, I know where this league comes from.
“Many black women who have grown up doing this league as it is. These are the type of shoulders we stand on. So, I think it is something I am aware and which I thanked very much. And they definitely deserve all the merit and the more we can deserve, the better. I am very aware of it and I know that it is responsibility.
AND Indiana fever Star spoke of “privilege” in an interview with the time months after several of her league colleagues expressed the belief that the race had played a factor of her popularity.
“I want to say that I have earned every single thing, but as a white person there is a privilege,” Clark said about it. “Many of those league players who were really good were blacks. This league was somehow built on them.

“The more we can figure it out, to point it out, to talk about it, and then to continue to invest the brands and the companies in those players who made this league amazing, I think it is very important. I have to continue to try to change it. The more we can rise the black woman, the nice thing it will be.”
