Charley Scalies died on Thursday at the age of 84.

Scalies died May 1 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
The actor was best known for portraying football coach Tony Soprano in “The Sopranos” and Thomas “Horseofface” Pakus in the second season of “The Wire”.
“As with all the other characters I blessed, a horse phase lives inside me,” he said Chesapeke Bay magazine 2019. “I invite him to play as needed.”

Scalies started his career at theater, landing in roles in “Guys and dolls”, “Chicago” and “The Wizard of Oz.” He also wrote a scenario entitled “Takes Balls,” inspired by a pool hall that his father owned during his childhood Scalise.
The actor switched to the silver screen, showing the characters in “12 monkeys”, “Liberty Heights”, “Jersey Girl” and “Condition Red”.
Recently appeared in the episode “Cold case” 2008.

Anne Marie also shared honor her father on Instagram with photographs of the two.

Scalies survives his wife Angelina, along with his children, Chuck, Angelina, Tony, Christ and Anne Marie. The actor also survives his grandchildren, Charles IV, Christopher, Domenic and Amelia.
