Given that the Republicans firmly controlled Washington after the 2024 election, and President Trump conducted his second term agent, Democrats find themselves Not only outside the authorities, but also in opposition to what the party is advocating.
A new wave of candidate appeared: not outside the political system, but from the democratic establishment itself.
According to Roll Call, at least four former Democratic Congress staff are now running against long-term members of their own party.
These challengers say they have been motivated by frustration because of the lack of direction of democratic leadership, ineffective communication and failure to respond to Trump’s political momentum.

Each of these candidates brings a unique perspective, but everyone shares a common topic: the belief that the Democratic Party is no longer equipped to fulfill the moment.

Chakrabarti told Roll Call in disappointed with what he saw in the democratic leadership. “The main thing that taught me time in Washington is that the current democratic party and its leaders have not been prepared at all for what is happening right now,” he said.
Instead of Trump strategically taking over, he said, democratic leadership was more deal with bureaucratic details than national messages.

“The party believes that their main job is to raise funds all day, not repairing real problems with voters,” he added.
Jake Rakov, 33-year-old former Deputy Director of Communications for Rev. Beard Sherman, is now running against her former boss at the California Valley of San Fernando. Sherman, who has served in Congress since 1997, is one of the older Democrats who are now facing inner challenges.
Rakov said he decided to escape after witnessing what he described as an outdated and ineffective approach to politics. “Looking after Trump beat again and saw [Sherman] Use the exact same point of conversation that I helped him in 2017 … He still did the same outdated things, “Rakov said.” Failed to adapt. “

Davis has not yet announced whether he will run for the 16th term.
Although Friedman rejected interviewed, he issued a statement by warning about the threats of the democracy and economic stability of Trump and Elona Musk. These challengers reflect a wider generational division within the Democratic Party. Roll Call reports that everyone under the age of 40, except Friedman, who is still younger than the middle age of 57 years at the age of 51.
Although their goals are different, their criticisms are consistent: long -term democrats do not communicate effectively, do not organize at the national level and do not offer solutions that resonate with frustrated voters.
Chakrabarti and Rakov criticized a democratic focus strategy solely on local races, while the GOP builds a cohesive national message. “We need a national message; that’s a way to beat the end right,” Chakrabarti said.
“I think democratic leaders like Pelosia think it is possible to improve the life of Americans who dramatically, so we don’t even try.”
While the Republicans continue to improve their national messages and build momentum under the guidance of President Trump, Democrats face the crisis of credibility in their own ranks.
