The first liability at Clearwater, Florida, declared a “mass incident against an accident” on Sunday night after a recreational ferry that transported dozens of passengers hit a boat, which escaped from the scene.
The Clearwater Police Directorate said the Clearwater ferry had more than 40 people on board when he was hit by another boat near the Memorial Causeway bridge.
The exact number of injuries is not clear, but the police said all injuries came from passengers to the ferry. Two people were considered “seriously injured” and transported by a helicopter to local hospitals.
From 10:30 pm, local time, the first respondents removed all patients and travelers from the ferry.

“The fire brigade was declared mass accidents due to the number of injuries. All local hospitals were informed. Multiple trauma warnings were called by helicopters who were transporting two seriously injured. Drivers should avoid Memorial Causeway,” Clearwater said at X.
After being hit, the police said the ferry was resting on a sandbar south of the bridge.
The details of the ship escaped after hitting the ferry are not yet available.
