Chito Martinez, the only MLB player who has ever greeted Belize, died, Baltimore Orioles announced on Tuesday. He was 59 years old.
Martinez played for three years in the Majorettes for Orioles as a striker from 1991 to 1993. He played in 158 career games, guessing .259 with 18 run in the house, 58 RBI and 22 couples.

“We mourn over the passage of former Orioles Chito Martinez, the only one from Belize who played in majorettes,” Orioles said in the post on X.
Dalton Martinez, Chit’s son, wrote on X that his father passed away at Easter.
“On Sunday night at Easter, my father unexpectedly took this country unexpectedly,” he wrote. “We desperately need help at this time. My father was one of the best men. He taught the baseball play on the right path. He learned the young men to be better. His presence in my life can never be replaced. While picking up pieces into my life, please think about help.
“A kind soul left us too early.”
The cause of death was not known.
Chito Martinez was the sixth round in the 1984 design Kansas City Royals Out of high school, brother of Martin in New Orleans.

Royals published it in 1990 and signed it with Orioles days later. Orioles released him after the 1993 season and later joined him Minnesota twins. But he never appeared with the twins.
