George Clooney predicts Trump will ‘go away,’ says GOP lacks strong successor


George Clooney does not talk about President Donald Trump.

In a new interview for legend Broadway Patti Lupone for Varic series “Actors on Actors: Broadway”The Oscar actor and longtime Democrat predicted that Trump would simply “leave” when he left his duty. Clooney commented on the broader interview on political cycles and the permanent influence of authoritarian figures.

“From President Jackson to [Joseph] McCarthy of this, authoritarian, demagogue, disappears when they go, “Clooney said, referring to Trump.

“And he will leave,” he added.

Clooney was not ashamed to recognize Trump’s magnetism either.

“They [Republican Party] Don’t have anyone who is as charismatic as he does. It’s charismatic. There is no one to take away from him. He is a television star, “he said.

Clooney was also more optimistic than many of his compatriots, saying that this period in history is far less dangerous than other stages in American history, such as unstable in the 1960s.

“We were in much worse places,” he said. “The only thing that differs is the source of information and how many different sources. This is the only thing that differs. But it is not nearly so violent, even though it feels violent. It is not nearly as hopeless as it was at that moment.”

Although Clooney is often considered an ally of the Democratic Party, he did not hesitate to criticize the party leadership. Clooney also expressed frustration by the decision to nominate Harris without primary. Still, he remains optimistic, claiming that with stronger Democrats candidates have a real hit in a victory House from Republicans.

“I think we will get the house for a year and a half, and I think it will be a check and balance in effect,” Clooney told Lupone.
