NYC mayor ordered to halt plan to have ICE in Rikers Island jail


New York judge ordered Mayor Eric Adams to temporarily stop the program Immigration agents work In the infamous prison of Rikers Island.

A lawsuit against Adam came from a democratic controlled New York City Councilwho seeks to ban Adam to cooperate with Trump’s administration in the fight against illegal immigration.

The lawsuit focuses on Adam’s recent executive order that allows the federal immigration authorities to manage the office on the island of Rikers to help conduct criminal investigations on drug trade, organized violence and activities of migrant gangs that plague the city.

In the lawsuit, the City Council accuses Adamas of embarking on an illegal “quid pro quo” with Trump’s administration by allowing ICE in a city prison in exchange for rejection of federal charges of corruption against him.

The lawsuit claims that Adams, who runs for a re -choice as an independent, priority to his own political goals over the city’s “esteemed Shrine“Calling an Executive Order” by Mayor Adams of the Treaty with Trump’s administration. “

Fox News Digital addressed the mayor’s office.

Adams announced earlier that he would replace his first deputy mayor, Randy Mastra to cope with all the decision when returning Ica to Rikers Island to “ensure that there had never been an appearance of any conflict.”

Mastro said last week that discussions with the Federal Government were underway.

Ice had previously had a presence in Rikers, but the agency is forbidden from prison complex 2014, according to the Laws on New York Refuge, which limit cooperation with the implementation of immigration.
