Vice -President JD Vance met with the official Sabbath of Vatican number 2 in Rome, and the couple had an “exchange of opinions” on international issues, including Migrants and deportations under Trump’s administration.
“There was an exchange of opinion on the international situation, especially regarding the countries affected by war, political tensions and severe humanitarian situations, with particular care of migrants, refugees and prisoners,” the Vatican statement said after the meeting.
“Finally, Nada is expressed because of the tranquility of the state and the Catholic Church in the United States, whose valuable service is recognized by the most vulnerable people.”
Vance, which turned into Catholicism in 2019, met with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the state secretary of the Vatican and Archbishop Paul Gallagher, his foreign minister.

He and Parolin “talked about their common religious faith, Catholicism in the United States, the distress of the persecuted Christian communities around the world and the dedication of President Trump to renew world peace,” said the Vance office.

The Vatican clashed with Trump’s administration over his push of deportation, but Saint Sel confirmed her good relations with the United States after the meeting.

Vance, with the second lady of USha Vance and their two young children, arrived in Rome on Friday, and met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgija Meloni.
“I am grateful for this job every day, but especially today, where I was brought to Rome on Good Friday,” the 40-year-old wrote on his X account on Friday. “I had a great meeting with the premiere of Melonia and her team, and I will soon head to church with my family in this beautiful city. I want all Christians around the world, but especially those who have returned home to the USA, blessed Good Friday. We died so we could live.”

The meeting followed the day after the president Trump met with menalia in the White House to discuss a trade agreement.

The vice president is expected to leave Italy to India, the second part of his trip, on Monday, where he will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
