Cortez allegedly asked for a woman to hand over her cellphone, wallet and electric scooter.
The police are located and arrested Cortez less than an hour after alleged robbery. The incident is caught in surveillance footage, Reported CWB Chicago.
Cortez was arrested six times in just 13 months, with prosecutors throwing four cases against him.

The incident happened only three days after Cortez was released from electronic monitoring after the prosecutor who rejected the narcotics case against him, CWB Chicago reports. Cortez is awaiting trial of reckless behavior and possession of firearms.
The Cook District State Attorney’s Office and the Chicago Police Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital for comment.
Earlier this week, Mayor Brandon Johnson defended the choice of the city to remain a sanctuary for unfathomable migrants.

At hearing the status on Thursday, the judge ordered Cortez to stay in custody while waiting for the official indictment, saying: “The accused is charged with a very serious offense. I believe the danger to the community. I believe the detention of the defendant is legally and appropriate.”
