The Democratic majority in Maine’s House of Representatives voted to adopt a law that would codify Maine Law on Human Rights (Mvra) at the State Constitution on Thursday.
Mvra is a state legislation about a tent tent in the permission of a trans -a -moder in maid’s sports during permanent quarrel with President Donald Trump’s administration because of this question.
The law was amended four years ago to add gender identity as a protected class and said that the denial of the person is the same possibility of participating in sports discrimination against education. Last year, the MAINE Director Association updated its policies to allow athletes to compete against the gender they identify.

The proposed proposal for the MAHHHhs constitutionalization of the MEHR was adopted with a slim simple majority in the house on Thursday, but they will need two-thirds of the majority in both chambers before it passes in front of the voters.
In the meantime, a Republican minority in the home supports the proposal to remove the term “gender identity” from Mvra.
The vote came the day after the US Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit Against the state because of his permanent defiance Trump’s executive commands “Save Men from Women’s Sport”. In the last two months, Maine has faced a huge federal pressure for refusing to adhere to, including two federal investigations, freezing the financing of the US Ministry of Agriculture and now an official lawsuit.
But the democratic leadership in the country, led by Governor Janet Mills, remained unwavering in its commitment to defy Trump and ensure that biological men’s trans -a -models can still participate in girls ‘sports and enter the girls’ locker rooms.
Mihra was the central law that the Democrats were leaning on to justify their defiant position.
MAINEA chief lawyer Aaron Frey justified the disrespect for his state by Trump quoting Mvra in an interview on Wednesday CNN.
“Our position is that the title IX is, in accordance with the Maine’s Law on Human Rights, so that the Federal and State Law supports that Trans Girls will be able to participate in high school sports in accordance with their gender identity,” Frey said. “So my claim is that Maine follows the title IX, Maine follows Maine’s Law on Human Rights.”
Fox News Digital previously obtained Statements of the Association of Principals of Maine and the Administrative District of 51 Maine Schools, citing Mvra for refusing to comply with Trump’s executive order.
“The Association of Director Maine is obliged to law, including Maine’s human rights law (Mvra), which reflects our policy of participation,” the officials said. “We are unable to sign any deal with resolving that would order to create a new policy that would violate the law and Mvra.”
Administrative District of 51 Maine Schools, Greely High School High School, where a transgender athlete encouraged national controversy after winning the girls’ competition in February, also pointed out to Maine’s Human Rights Law that enabled an athlete to compete.
“The MSAD #51 Board of Directors is guided by the mission, vision and fundamental values of our district. This includes the promotion of a safe, caring and ethical environment for learning in which each person will be treated with respect and righteousness; and individuals are recognized, appreciated and supported,” the statement said.
However, most Maine residents do not agree with the permission of a trans -a -moder to compete in girls’ sports.
AND survey The coalition of American parents revealed that out of about 600 registered Maine, 63%, the participation in school sports should be based on the biological sex, and 66% agreed that “only FER limits women’s sports on biological women.”
Survey also revealed that 60% of the population would support a voting measure limiting participation in Women’s and maiden sports to Biological females. This included 64% independent and 66% of parents with children under the age of 18.
And while Maine’s democratic leadership refuses to adhere to Trump’s executive order, one school district takes things into its own hands and defies the state anyway.
AND MSAD #70 School Board On Monday night, he voted unanimously to adhere to the title IX, “recognizing only two sexes – biological male and biological females and that all private spaces were separated by biological sex.”

Msad #70 Superintendent Tyler Putnam told Fox News Digital that, because of this vote, she is now aimed at changing the district policies to prevent transcending athletes in girls’ sports.
“Our Committee, similar to many people in Maine, followed backwards and back to communication between the Federal Government and the State. We hope that both sides will work together to support local school districts like ourselves,” Putnam said.
“The Committee and Priority of our staff number 1 is to provide our students with education, which will positively influence their future in our great country and country.”
