Washington and 2024 US selection for the world is your guide to what is it

President Trump’s reckless steps have spread British foreign policy. Although they present some strategic opportunities, this mask is a serious strategic dilemma.
Opportunities are in use to use Britain’s isolation from the EU to seek priority in control and trade. There is a hesitation in the need to decide where the UK’s permanent economic and security interests are. Although the instant goal is to limit the damage, to retain leverage and buy time (and the government is doing a good job of it), long -term challenges cannot be thrown.
The voice argued that the first ally of the United States of America was right so far and economic relations remained important. However in three months the US has been unilaterally reversed Principle On Ukraine, the outbreak of Putin, sandbags on commercial multilateral rules, and half the UK’s economic growth was predicted. The issues may be better, but the “general” service will start again. Requires a response to changing situations.
Pillar Foreign policyA close relationship with Washington and a better relationship with the EU, now shows the opposition. Care Starmer argues that Britain does not have to like binary, but about technical control, trade choice, digital tax, defense collection, Ukraine and China policy – he has to make many distinct. Everyone will bear the consequences.
The controversy over Britain’s relationship with Brexit has been seen through controversial secondary issues such as Fishing Quota, the rights of travel artists and the right to travel to young people. It is time to rebuild the agenda surrounding the subject of more existence. Europe is the geographical home of Britain. America does not share its closeness to Russia, greater laid or immigration challenges. No, growing, it does not share British social attitude or opinion on international cooperation. As they can be as hassle, most European democracy still does.
Comparative European countries in the UK, especially France and Germany, but with Italy, Poland and others should work to protect our general protection. It should be paved the way for more constructive discussions on both sides how the UK can be better involved with the EU in important shared priorities: growth, capital market development, competition, productivity and investment.
The UK should also look more wide. Beyond the fatal insults of Canada, an interesting feature of Trump’s tariff was the target of the Asia-Pacific countries that President Biden did a lot to cultivate Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand and ASEAN members.
When America behaved as a reliable ally, I suspect that British foreign policy should move towards the so -called middle powers. However, this is an idea in which time has come. In the United States and China being stuck in a structural force war, Britain should try to preserve such measures where middle-size, open democracy can apply their influence in laws and rules-based markets and continue to offer a persuasive model.
This does not mean creating a new organization. It would often be more efficient to hold and adapt the parts of the international equipment. Based on the interests shared on a single issue, Willing’s alliances will be a powerful instrument of new diplomacy.
Working with fellow European and other middle power democracy is a strategic opportunity and a way away from dependence on America. The UK is well -equipped to take the leading role in the evolution of this national foreign policy, as it is already appearing in Ukraine. However, it requires imagination, resources and political courage.
