Tommy Helms, double MLB All-Star and Rookie Years of the 1966 National League, died, Cincinnati Reds announced on Sunday. He was 83 years old.
Helms made his debut for Redse in 1964, but did not play full time until 1966. Spent eight years with Cincinnati, and played for Houston Astros, Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Red Sox Before he left the majorettes after the 1977 season.

“We are sad when we hear about the passage of another basic player with Hall of Fame Tommy Helms,” the team announced. “Our thoughts and prayers come out to his family and friends.”
Both Helms season All-Star came when he was with the Reds.
In 1967 he scored .275 with 136 hits in 497 AT-Palica and drove in 35 rides. He also had four threesomes, who were high in his career at the time. Helms followed this with an average of 0.288, 47 RBI and 28 pairs. He earned MVP votes in 1968.

Helms won the gold glove as the second base man in 1970 and 1971 before joining astrosa.
Helms hit .269 with 34 home runs, 477 RBI and 223 couples in 14 seasons. In his post-carrier career, he briefly managed the Reds in the 1988 and 1989 seasons. He had 28-26 in those two part-time seasons.
It was introduced into the Red Hall of the Fame in 1979.

Wes Helms, Tommy’s nephew, played 13 seasons in big leagues. Appeared for Florida Marlins, Atlanta BravesMilwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies.
