UK MP denied entry to Hong Kong

Hong Kong has banned a British MP from entering the Chinese region, just as the labor government is trying to expand bilateral economic relations, as is the uncertainty of UK-China relations.

Bath’s liberal Democrat MP Wera Hawaus and China on cross-border inter-parliamentary alliance member (IPAC) said he was refused to enter Hong Kong this week without specific reasons given by the authorities.

Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey has called the entry rejection the rejection “heartless”. He wrote on the social media platform X, “Chinese authorities have removed him – only he is a British MP. Is completely unacceptable,”
