Germany’s Merz says Trump tariffs risk fanning a financial crisis



The German Chancelloror-In-Word Friedrich Merz said Donald Trump tariff policies and suggested for a US-European idea with a bad response from the US President.

“Yes, I hope for a new transatlantic free-trade agreement,” Handelsblatt quotes Merz said to aTalk.“Zero percent tariffs at all. That is better for both sides.”

The European Union suggests reciprocal “zero-zero-zero” tariffs of the US industry. Trump told reporters on Monday that the proposal was insufficient and suggested that Europe should offset it by buying strength to us.

Europe must focus on non-US markets if the US decides to bend the world, as Merz.
