Eisgruber sat on Wednesday with the “Daily” host Podcast Rachel Abrams to discuss freezing and anti -Semitism of research at university campuses.
Faculties and universities in the whole country expressed concern about the president Donald Trump Exploring schools for alleged anti-Semitic discrimination and harassment, reducing federal funding for those who seemingly allowed anti-Israelic protests in the campus from the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
One of these schools was the University of Columbia, which changed its protest policy, expanded its program of Jewish Studio, the School Program for the Middle East put it under new supervision and changed disciplinary procedures for students to avoid losing $ 400 million federal financing.

“We started seeing top -notch threats to funding early in the new presidential administration,” Eisgruber told Abrams.
“Then a few weeks ago, something happened in Columbia, which presented a new one, and, in my opinion, a very dangerous element of this, which is that the Government has entered, and without any procedure or any apparent investigation, she said …” We will take away a bunch of grants … And we will not renew them, unless you are like acceptance. “

They discussed while the rumors were spinning about Trump’s administration that followed a legal arrangement or a consent decree, which would order the Columbia University to adhere to the executive directives on the anti -Semitism of Trump.
Under the former President Joe BidenHigher universities, including Brown and Rutgers, have signed similar decrees for concern for anti -Semitism after the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel, Wall Street Journal reported.
However, when Abrams asked if Eisgruber would score if Trump says he would reduce the funds unless a certain department is put under the academic receipt, he said he would not give up.
“We wouldn’t do that,” he said. “We believe that would be illegal, and we would compete in court … I really think we all need to speak immediately.”

“It is important for me to use my voice. That is why, in response to a number of your questions, I said, ‘Hey, I can tell you about what’s going on on Princeton, but I don’t think it applies to Princeton. It is what is happening in the United States, “Eisgruber said.” I think it would be so stronger that many of my fellow presidents spoke.
“US universities [are] under threat. “
Eisgruber said that changes in politics are “a crisis for our country.”
