A statue of a naked woman of 45 feet is the latest-and highest San Francisco’s Beach installation.
Work of artUnder the name “R-Evolovinci”, it was presented with music, lights and art of performance on Thursday, the kindness of a non-profit public art organization. Designed to shine at night and it seems that it “breathes” internal engines, the statue should have represented strength and compassion.
Instead, it caused a return reaction, internet memes and questions about city priorities.
Originally created for Burning Man 2015 by sculptor Marc Cochrane, a stainless steel figure now stands outside the ferry building, throwing a long (and anatomically detailed) shade across the city where fewer and fewer people seem impressed with a spectacle.

While some see the statue as empowered, many San Francisians see it as another example of a city that wrongly reads the room.
Social media illuminated After the video influencer Collin Rugg became viral, showing that the cherry berarator clumsily lifted the statue of the statue during the installation. The commentators quickly had a field day.
“Nothing says” Center Revival “like a bare lady of 45 feet, which got the back surgery,” one user wrote. Another dead, “This picture embodies the spirit of San Francisca-Cut in-.”

A 45-foot sculpture, “R-Evolution”, artist Marc Cochrane stands on Thursday on Embarcadero Plaza in San Francisco. A steel network statue, which simulates breathing through internal engines, has caused a wide debate about the priorities of the city. (Ktva)
The statue is installed only blocks from an area that deals with visible homelessness, using drug drugs on outdoors and boarded stores. While the art world could call it “opposed”, many residents simply call it a tone-gluhim.
Bruce Lou, a Republican challenger Nancy Pelosi in the last congress election, was blunt.
“I don’t know where to start the wrong priorities for the city of San Francisco,” Lou said. “They look like they are focused on absolutely all but things that are important.”
Lou asked Pelosi’s connection with the city, noting, “I’m not even sure Pelos know about the statue. He is originally from Baltimore and spends almost all his time in DC, so the city and its composition are not at the top of her mind.”

John Dennis, former president of the GOP San Francisco and the current Cagop chair, offered an even sharp estimate.
“The city named after St. Francis is now dominated by a feminist, an anti-Musk program. The results speak for themselves,” he said. “A giant, naked woman blocking a proud, iconic ferry building is the perfect metaphor for San Francisco these days.”
However, the return was not limited to conservatives.
In the KQED comment, “No one asked for it,” wrote art editor Sarah Hotchkiss, “while looking at this monumental sculpture of steel and net on Thursday, I felt uncomfortable with San Francisco. If we didn’t go if we didn’t want to, if we didn’t go, if we didn’t want to if we didn’t go. “

Her criticism adds to the growing San Francisco Choir in the political spectrum that has called into question how and why it has become a civic priority.
According to the latest number of times from the city, over 8,300 People experience homelessness In San Francisco. The city plans to spend almost $ 690 million on housing and homeless programs in the coming fiscal year. Camps are still widespread in areas such as tenders, catfish and missions.
The violent crime has fallen 14% all over the city last year, and the breakthrough of the car hit a 22-year-old low, surprising development in a city where “Smash-and-Grab” once felt like a daily ritual. However, weapons violence indicated 5%, and despite the enhanced law implementation, public security remains main concern.
Free stores and empty streets in the city center make even the most optimistic “revitalization” of tone somewhat as a performance itself.

Drug implementation was also increased in 2025, and arrests and quotes associated with narcotics increased almost 40% compared to the beginning of 2024. However, critics claim that implementation without treatment of addiction or shelter capacity often only moves the problem without solving.
The “R-Evolution” is expected to remain in place for at least six months and maybe up to a year.
