South Carolina executed A man shooting on Friday on Friday, after states and US courts rejected appeals and US courts earlier this week.
Mikal Mahdi, 42, was convicted in the murder of a police officer out of office in 2004 in the Calhoun district, South Carolina, and a trade official at Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was sentenced to death for the murder of officers and a lifetime prison for the murder of an official.
Mahdi had the choice of dying by deadly injection, electric stool or cracking – and he chose the latter. Associated press reported that he did not make a final statement or looked at nine people who witnessed his execution before his hood was put over his head, and the shootings fired three prison employees who volunteered for the law. He was declared dead less than four minutes later.
Prison officials have announced that he has asked Ribeeya steak for his last meal, cooked medium medium, mushroom risotto, broccoli, cakes, cheese and sweet tea.

Mahdi was sentenced to death in 2006 after admitting he killed out of duty Orangeburg Public Security Department Captain James Myers, 56, on his estate on July 18, 2004.
Myers has been shot at least eight times and his body burned when his wife found him in their shed, which was near a gas station where Mahdi tried to buy gas with a stolen credit card. He left the vehicle he traveled to Columbia at a gas station and was later arrested in Florida while driving Myers unmarked police truck.
Mahdi also admitted that he had killed the clerk Christopher Boggs for three days before killing Myers. Boggs was twice shot in the head while checking Mahdi’s id, according to AP -u.

Mahdi’s lawyers enrolled a final appeal against South Carolina and US Supreme Courts, but this was rejected earlier this week.
They claimed that Mahdi was not quite represented by his original lawyers because they did not invite relatives, teachers or other people who knew him during the case, adding that they also neglected how Mahdi spent several months in solitary confinement as a teenager.
Prosecutors, on the other hand, said that Mahdi’s nature was “violence” and said he solved the problems with brutality, mentioning that he Stinging a prison guard and hit another worker with a specific block over the years on Death Row.
He was also caught by tools that could be used to escape, including the tightened metal that could act as a knife, prison records said.

The execution on Friday marked the second time that South Carolina prisoner had been shot by shooting in the last five weeks, and the fifth execution overall in the country in the last eight months.
After Mahdi’s death, Palmetto’s state now has 26 prisoners on Death Row – only one of these people was sentenced to death in the last decade.
