Former Hillary Clinton adviser and CNN contributor Karen Finney claimed on Sunday that President Biden’s dossier “will stand the test of time” when he leaves office.
“I think we’ll remember in the long run that this is the president and the vice president who helped bring us back from the brink during COVID, when hundreds of thousands of people were dying on a daily basis,” Finney said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “We were in our homes and businesses and small businesses were going off the cliff, and he helped us get vaccines, get us out of our homes, put us back to work and invested in this country.”
She added: “I think one of the things you’re going to see him do with the time he has left is invest more in the Chip and Science Act. I think it’s really going to be transformational in communities across the country. I think Donald Trump is going to take credit for that, but Joe Biden’s record in terms of the things he’s accomplished, I think will stand the test of time.”

Finney acknowledged that some critics, like her fellow panelist Scott Jennings, called out the administration “rightly” for not disclosing Biden’s mental state. However, she quickly dismissed it in favor of Biden’s foreign policy.
“It was very upsetting to find out at the end of the year how bad his health had gotten. And I, like many, didn’t realize it got to that point,” Finney said. “That being said, I think … he showed up for the job. He got the job done. I think some of the achievements also in the Middle East and foreign policy will also stand the test of time.”
Jennings rejected this claim, particularly her argument that Biden brought “a number of hostages” home from the Middle East.

“Look, I think he’s going to leave office in disgrace,” Jennings said. “Hunter Biden’s pardon was a disgrace. He will be remembered mostly for inflation and for the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. And I think … we’re just getting the first draft of this.”
He continued: “But as we continue to learn about the massive cover-up that took place, not his health, but his mental acuity to cover it up, the efforts made by the White House staff, his family, not in the last few months, but for all four year, I think this will be a very ugly chapter because of that.”

Fox News poll found that Biden had only a 41% approval rating before leaving office, and only 7% of those surveyed believed he was “one of the greatest” presidents.

His ratings fared even worse in national poll by Marquette Law School conducted from December 2-11 where he had only 34% support, the lowest approval rating for Biden since taking office.
