Prosecutors Maryland on Friday rested their case against Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, illegal immigrant Accused of rape and murder of a Bel-Air Rachel Morin woman in August 2023.
Morin, a 37-year-old mother of a five-year-old, ran the path of Ma & Pa in Bel-Air, a strange community northeast of Baltimore, when Martinez-Hernandez was reportedly allegedly allegedly Ambushes, strangled and beat her to death.

Harford County Det. Phil Golden testified on Friday, while prosecutors reproduced a video of their interview with suspected after Morin’s murder, which made it easier for the Spanish interpreter.

In a video interview, Martinez-Hernandez says he doesn’t know Morin and denied to be in Bel Air at the time of her murder, according to Fox 45 Baltimore.

Martinez-Hernandez would eventually acknowledge the police after his arrest that he was in Bel-Air at the time of the murder after he initially lied and provided a false identity.
When the authorities searched his phone, they said they had discovered online inquiries for “Bel Air, [Md.]”I” Rachel ” – including the wrong written version of Morin’s name – along with the pictures of Morina and media reporting related to the investigation.

Golden also allegedly questioned Martinez-henandez about his DNA, which was allegedly found at the site of Morin’s murder.
“No two people have the same DNA,” Golden can be heard who says the suspected interview.

During the testimony, Golden recalled Martinez-Hernandez, telling him that he “did not know” that his DNA came to the crime scene, as reported by Fox 45.
“[I]If someone wanted to hurt him, he could take his DNA and put him somewhere, “Golden recalled during testimony.

The results of the autopsy revealed that Morin had endured 15 to 20 blows to the head and died of a combination of giving and blunt trauma of force. Her death was officially ruled by murder.
In the opening of the statement on April 4, the Harford District State Attorney Alison Healey said that worried community members had left the pedestrian path after seeing the missing persons on Facebook.

“I saw an unprecedented human body on my back. At first, I really thought it might be deer or something he died there,” Evan Knapp, who found the body of Rachel Morin, testified. “So, I had to move a little closer to confirm what I saw, and that was a man. I feel like time to froze for a moment and I didn’t know what I was looking at.”

The defense is expected to call witnesses on Monday, and the judge advised that the closure arguments are likely to be issued on Monday.
The Rachel Morin family was present for every day of trial so far and is expected to remain until his conclusion.
