GM reveals the real reason its halting Canadian production and laying off workers—and it’s not Trump’s tariffs

Canadian subsidiary ofGeneral MotorsSaid Friday it temporarily stops production and cutting staff at an Ingersoll assembly, Ontario, due to expected electric shipping vehicles.

Company Spokesperson Jennifer Wright said in a statement that Gm Canada is making “operational and employment adjustments to balance inventory and align production schedules with current demand.”
