MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred gave his support to the so-called torpedo batswho have attracted the attention of baseball fans and experts since the beginning of the 2025 season.
The bats were first highlighted during New York Yankees’ Playing for the opening day against Milwaukee Brewers. Eyebrows were raised further when New York scored nine home run against Brewers in the second game of the season.

Since then, more players have begun to use bats, even when the lapel has complained. But Manfred supported use in a recent interview.
“I believe that problems such as torpedo bat and discussion around her show the fact that baseball continues to occupy a unique place in our culture, because people go into complete anger because of something that is really nothing at the end of the day. The bats are in accordance with the rules,” he told the New York Times.
Manfred added that “players have been moving a sweet place in bats for years” and pointed out the debate that baseball is to become a rating and attendance.

Baseball Hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins also revealed a discussion in an interview in an interview with Ouskick’s “Ricky Cobb Show.”
“Well, when you look at the game when I played in the 1960s, the 70’s, the 80’s, the launch was quite dominant, and now we are like a second-class citizen. Everything is done for the attacker. Like, you say the clock, the pool is bigger, you have an excessive sleeve, which gives you an extra triangle.
In addition to changing the rules that benefit the shots, Said Jenkins Torpedo bats are just the latest thing in a baseball that will help them.
“There are more shocking surfaces for the attacker and I think it could increase the average of the blows a little, but you will get a better piece of wood on the ball and the ball may travel a little further,” he said.

“Who knows? Several hits of extra-basis, and now one striker sees one of his teammates. Now he wants to use him. I can believe it before the All-Star Break Ball Club will have half a dozen that use that torpedo stick.”
