NFL news: Falcons legend Julio Jones retires after 13 seasons


Atlanta Sokoli Great Julio Jones announced his retirement from the NFL after 13 seasons on Friday.

Jones, 36, is the franchise leader of Falcon in receptions (848) and the income of yard (12,896) and the second is Roddy White in Touchdown (60).

“I announce retirement. I started when I was 8 years old from Foley, Alabama. It was an amazing ride,” Jones wrote in a statement.

Jones drew the total number 6 in 2011 Nfl draft Alabama Falcons. He played 10 seasons with Falconi and was named seven times in Pro-Bowl and was an All-Pro choice five times.

Jones spent one season with Tennessee TitansTampa Bay Buccaneers and Philadelphia Eagles after a 10 -year run with Falcon. Jones last played in 2023 with the Eagles and did not play in 2024.

Jones captured 914 passes for 13,703 Jard and 66 Touchdown during his NFL career.

“Today I announce this announcement because of the city of Atlanta,” Jones said in his statement. “Thank you man, I appreciate everything. It’s nothing but love. I do it for 404 days – it was a hell of a ride. … This was for the city, man, I appreciate you all.”

“You also want to thank other balls with balls, and organizations. Tennessee, thank you for the opportunity. Tampa, thank you for the opportunity. Eagles, thank you for the opportunity.”
