“I believe that the state of Maine is under surveillance because of the state law that enables biological men to play in girls’ sports. The state refused to follow the president Donald Trump Executive order that biological males do not compete in maiden and women’s sports. The Office for Civic Rights of the Department of Health and Human Services on Friday sent a state “disrespect for IX” to the Ministry of Justice.

“It is critically important to treat people who are transgender with respect and dignity. “I will still advocate for Maine to get my fair stake in federal financing, something I have successfully done so far, but I support the original intention behind the title IX.”

The Maine School officials explained why they refused to comply with Trump’s executive commands on Monday.

“The Association of Director Maine is obliged by law, including Maine’s Human Rights Act (Mvra), which reflects our policy of participation,” the officials wrote. “We are unable to sign any deal with resolution that would ordered to create a new policy that would violate the law and Mvra.

“As such, we have not signed and will not sign an agreement on the resolution that the Federal Ministry of Health and Human Services sent. As for the Federal Ministry of Education, the Civic Rights Office, the resolution agreement, we were not a direct recipient of the agreement, so we are not obliged to answer.”

The Human Rights Law from Maine was amended four years ago to add gender identity as a protected class and said that the denial of a person is equal to participate in sports discrimination with education. The MAINE Director Association has updated its policy to allow athletes to compete against gender they identify as last year.

The University of New Hampshire University of New Hampshire showed that 64% of Maine residents believe that transgender athletes “definitely should not” or “probably should not” participate in maiden and women’s sports. Only 29% of Maine residents believed that transgender athletes “probably needed” or “should definitely” compete against girls and women in sports.
