Provisional Columbia University President Katrina Armstrong stepped down in the midst of a confrontation with Trump’s administration over federal financing.
“Dr. Armstrong accepted the role of temporary president at a time of great uncertainty for the university and worked tirelessly to promote the interests of our community,” said David J. Greenwald, chairman of the Board of Directors, in a statement late on Friday. “Katrina always gave her the heart and soul of Columbia. We appreciate her service and look forward to her constant contribution to the University.”
Fox News also confirmed that the Committee of the Committee of Claire Shipman was appointed acting president of the University until the Committee ended his presidential search. Shipman has been on the Committee since 2013.
Armstrong is expected to return to lead the Irving University Medical Center, Fox News also learned.

President Claire Shipman’s office has written four books on the Bestseller New York Times, including the Code of Trusted, Code of Girl’s Trial Code, living a code of trust and female.
Shipman has a new book that was published in June, focused on women and power entitled “With Powder.”
Armstrong entered after former Columbia president Minouche Shafik resigned in August in the middle of a request institutional anti -Semitism.

At the time, Mike Johnson’s president said: “We hope that the resignation of President Shafika will serve as an example of university administrators across the country that tolerate or protection anti -Semites is unacceptable and will have consequences.”
