Senior Starmer aide to stand down

Sir Care Starmer’s communications director Matthew Doyle will be withdrawn from his role just nine months later.

The 49 -year -old former Prime Minister Tony Blair served as a special adviser to Tony Blair and in 2015 led the led communication to promote the leadership of Liz Bandal.

In a letter to Doyle Downing Street colleagues, “When I started working for care four years ago, many did not think we could win a general election and certainly not to us vigorously.”

He added: “I am incredibly proud of the part I played in the country that I played to return to the government and I was already in the country,” he wrote, “Now is the time to pass the stick now”.

He is the latest member StarsLeft workers, after leaving last October after a few months of negative press about his leadership in Chief of Staff Su Gray Downing Street.

Former journalist James Lyons, who was previously the head of the Tech Group Tikat, would take over from Doyle.
