William Shatner celebrates 94th birthday with charity work


William Shatner knows it is better to give than to receive … and that Las Vegas is very fun.

Alum “Star Trek” plans Celebrate his 94th birthday On Saturday, volunteering – as he has been the last 35 years – in his charity organization.

“In recent years I celebrated my birthday by working on a very successful charity organization called The Hollywood Charity Horse Show,” the 94-year-old revealed People magazine. “We have been doing it for 35 years and we have raised millions of dollars for children and veterans.”

Shatner began a charity organization in 1990 after watching handicapped children working with horses.

The charity organization added: “One special Saturday night every year, William Shatner brings together horses and world class riders in amazing diamonds and gardens while competing for top honors in their classes,” with all revenue to go for charity.

“My family takes me to Las Vegas for dinner and show, then back to Los Angeles,” he told People. “It will be a family experience in that wonderful, fun city. I’m really looking forward to it.”

“The energy of your life, the energy of your body’s soul is a product of health,” he told People. “If you are sick, you can’t be energetic. You die. So my happiness has been healthy all my life.”

Shatner was born in Montreal, Canada on March 2, 1931.

On Saturday, he also shared his gratitude for his social media to everyone who wished him well.

“While I start my 95th sun trip today, I want to take a minute to thank everyone for your birthday wishes!” He wrote. “I am overwhelmed by the amount of love I have received. My best, Bill.”

Shatner has received well -being from many celebrities, including astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson, who wrote on the X: “Happy Birthday to William Shatner. Today, finishing 94 trips around the sun. Congratulations on your journey of 55 billion billion miles.”
