Weiss was accused of committing alleged crimes from 2015 to January 2023.
According to the indictment, Weiss “gained unauthorized access to databases of student athletes with more than 100 colleges and universities that held a third supplier.” He then allegedly downloaded personal data and data of more than 150,000 athletes and, from there, Weiss managed to access more than 2,000 athletes, including access to their social media, and storage in the cloud.

Weiss has been accused of using this information to download “personal, intimate digital photos and videos that have never been intended to share outside of intimate partners,” prosecutors said.
