Trump administration ends program to track kidnapped Ukrainian children in Russia, lawmakers say

The US State Department has completed the funds for monitoring the thousands of Ukrainian children abducted, and the US data database with victims may have been deleted, according to a letter planned by US MPs who will send the administration officers on Wednesday.

A group of Democratic US lawyers wrote a letter to the state secretary Marco Rubio And the Scott Bessent Minister, urging the administration to return a program that helps monitor the abducted Ukrainian children.

The administration ended the initiative financed by the Government led by the Laboratory for Humanitarian Research by the University of Yale, which accompanied the mass deportation of children from Ukraine, which means that the researchers lost access to a significant amount of information-in-law, consuming satellite images of approximately 30,000 kids from Ukraine.

“We have reason to believe that the store information has been permanently deleted. If it were true, that would have devastating consequences,” the letter led by the tail said. Ohio Greg Landsman.

The news of the letter arrived on Tuesday, the same day as US President Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who stopped agreeing to a 30-day truck in Moscow War against Ukraine.

A person familiar with the monitoring program said the canceled State Department contract led to a deletion of evidence of war crimes of $ 26 million.

“They took $ 26 million in the US taxpayer who was used for war crimes information and threw them at Woodchipper, including the files on all children,” Reuters said.

“If you wanted to protect President Putin from criminal prosecution, you canceled it. And they did so. It is the last version that is acceptable in court with all metapods,” the person added.

The letter of administration officials also calls for sanctions to punish officials in Russia and its Allied Belarus involved in the abduction of children.

“These awful, openly recognized violations of the rights of children who provide in accordance with the consequences of the demand of international law,” the letter states.

The humanitarian research laboratory of the Yale University also no longer has access to the satellite images needed to monitor the abducted children, according to the legislators.

“Our Government provides an important service – one that does not require the transfer of weapons or cash to Ukraine – in search of a noble goal of rescuing these children. We must, immediately, continue the job to help Ukraine to bring these children home,” the letter said.
