Former Rev. Nita Lowey, Dn.y., died at the age of 87, according to her family.
Lowy, who represented New York in US Representative Home For 32 years, she was the first woman to chair a home approval committee, she died on Saturday after a long battle with a metastatic breast cancer, the New York Post report said.
“The Nite family was central in her life as she was in all of us,” a longtime family of MP said in a statement. “We will miss more than words can say and will comfort knowing that she has lived a full and purposeful life.”

AND New York MP Nita Sue Menikoff was born in Bronx in 1937, and later graduated from the Bronx Science High School before she arrived graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1959, according to the report.
She married lawyer Stephen Lowey in 1961, and was first elected to Congress in 1988 to represent the 17th Congress New York Congress.
Longtime ally Former Nancy Pelosi House And the Clinton family, Lowey became chairman of the 2019 home approval committee. She often clashed with President Donald Trump during her first term of office in her time as a chairman, saying Lohud in 2019 that he was the president of “shame”.

“The president is a shame both as a member of the Congress and as the leader of the Committee on approved funds, we have a responsibility to serve people,” she said at the time.
Lowey announced the same year that retirement, and the Democratic leader of House Hakem Jeffies, Dn.y., told the New York Post that a longtime MP was a “principled, passionate and powerful public official.”

“During her historic career, Lowy’s Congress woman served her voters bravely and advocated New Yorkers as she broke more glass ceilings on the way,” Jeffries said on Sunday, adding that Lowey was “mentor and friend.”
Lowey survived her husband, three children and eight grandchildren.
