Devils pull off ultimate troll job on Rangers during dominant victory

However, that night during the Rangers’ draft party at Madison Square Garden, Rangers fans applauded the Devils for selecting Hughes — whether it was because they preferred Kakko or because they were torn between the two players and didn’t want to be torn between the two. for discussion.

Well, the two players had very different tenures with their respective teams. Hughes became a candidate for the Calder Trophy, while Kakko not only failed to live up to the hype, but was traded by the Rangers earlier this month for Seattle Kraken.

The two rivals met in Newark on Monday, the Rangers’ first game against New Jersey since trading Kak, and the Devils and their fans had a field day.

On the scoreboard, the Devils played a video of one of Kakk’s aforementioned Rangers fans’ celebrations, and the camera immediately panned to Hughes, who couldn’t help but laugh.

To add insult to injury, Hughes scored twice in the Devils’ 5-0 win. After the win, the Devils released a video of the same video, but photoshopped the “L” onto MSG’s scoreboard.

It’s been a disappointing season for the Rangers, who after being Stanley Cup contenders last year, could just miss the playoffs. Meanwhile, New Jersey can make a serious run for the Cup this year with Hughes at the helm.
