Woman climbed out of Alaska Airlines plane onto wing due to ‘anxiety’

The passenger exited the Alaska Airlines plane via an alternative route after landing in Seattle on Sunday evening.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, Port of Seattle emergency services were alerted to an incident at Exit N9 involving the arrival Alaska Airlines Flight 323, Seattle–Tacoma International Airport media relations manager Perry Cooper told Fox News Digital in a statement.

Cooper said that while the plane was disembarking, a female passenger on the plane became “anxious” and opened the emergency exit over the wing.

Because of her anxiety, Cooper said the woman then climbed onto the wing of the plane.

Cooper added that the Port of Seattle Fire responded and helped the passenger off the wing and onto the ramp.

The Port Police Crisis Team responded, Cooper said, and ultimately decided to send the passenger to the hospital for evaluation.

Cooper said there were no injuries and that no other operations were affected by the incident.

An Alaska Airlines spokesperson also confirmed the incident to Fox News Digital and said “the matter has been safely resolved.”

“We are working with our crew and airport officials to gather more details about what may have happened. We thank our employees for their quick response and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our guests,” an airline spokesperson said.
