Ambassador Byron Donaldds, R-FLA, has announced plans for nominating for Governor Florida next year during an interview with Hannity on Tuesday night.
The following elections in Florida were scheduled for November 3, 2026. Speaking with host Sean Hannity, Donalds said he came to the decision to run “after a lot of prayer [and] A lot of thoughts with family and my friends. “
“Sean, we have a wonderful state,” Donalds said. “I arrived in Florida when I was 17, from the Grayhound bus with only a trunk full of clothes. And through the rest of the time in Florida, I built a family, I built my career. … I was able to serve four years in the state legislature, four years in Congress.
“And I think now is the time to take the cloak and lead our country to the future.”

Republican Florida said he was the only candidate in the race so far and praised Florida Ron Desantis rules for his service to the state.
“We have a great governor. Ron Desantis did a great job for our country,” Donalds said. “But now it’s a job to keep the best country in the country as the best country in the country. And so it will be a mission on hand. And I’m excited to announce my candidacy with you tonight.”
Donalds was approved by the President Donald Trump, who recently wrote that his colleague Sunshine State resident “will be a truly great and powerful governor for Florida.”
“I hear that very appreciated Congressman byron Donalds He is considering running for Governor Florida, a state I love and conquered the great 2016, 2020 and 2024, “said Trump’s social media.
“[S]Should you decide to run, [Donalds] It will have my complete and complete approval. Run, Byron, run! “

Desantis, however, did not signal the support of Donalds. On Monday, Desantis told reporters that he wanted Congressmen in Florida to be “focused on adopting [Trump’s] agenda. “
“They haven’t done much yet,” Desantis said. “They do not put his executive commands in their place. We will see what they are doing to consumption, but we have such a narrow majority that we try to campaign in other places and miss these voices, I mean, is not something that is recommended at all.”
Desantis’ comments arrived in the middle of the rumor that his wife Casey could run for the governor. Florida governor presented a journalistic question about his wife’s plans at a press conference on Monday.

“People are constantly asking me about our beautiful first lady, who did the fantastic job of the first Lady of Florida,” Osantis replied. “I’ll tell you this. Talk about someone like her. I won with the biggest margin that every Republican ever won the Governor race here in Florida. She would be better than me.”
