Suspect arrested after stabbing in Germany at Holocaust memorial


German police An arrested suspect after a stab on Berlin’s memorial Holocaust left a person seriously injured on Friday night at a local time.

Police have not yet given a motive or established any connection between a stinging and a holocaust memorial, known as a memorial in the killed Jews of Europe, or the US Embassy located nearby.

The stitch also arrived two days before Germany National Elections on Sunday.

The victim, whose injuries are not life-threatening, has been identified as a 30-year-old Spanish tourist, according to Associated Press.

“Our forces have detained a suspect near the crime scene,” Berlin police announced on X. “The investigationsed continued.”

During a press conference, police spokesman Florian Nath said the attack occurred around 6pm, “probably a knife. Maybe with something else.”

The suspect was arrested about three hours later after being seen near the memorial.

“He had blood on his hands, and that made him very suspicious,” Nath said.

In the update, the police said on the X that the larger area around the crime scene “traces of additional emergency services, police dogs and police helicopter” have been sought.
