Tail. Jim Clyburn, DS.C., brushed from Elon Musk statement about funding moderates in key Democratic districts and said he didn’t know anyone in his party who was afraid of Musk’s “money.”
CNN’s Victor Blackwell asked Clyburn Saturday about Musk’s statement on X and wondered how Democrats would respond to Musk’s potential financial involvement in Democratic races.
“Well, you beat them. That’s what you do. Now you’re at work. Look, I’m a child of the ’60s. I grew up here in South Carolina. I missed voting yesterday because I was participating in the eulogy of a gentleman of very humble origins who took down that the flag from the statehouse dome and launched this effort throughout the South to get rid of all these Confederate emblems. We did it with a lot of money against us,” Clyburn began.
Musk announced on social media, responding to a video by Rep. Richard Neal, D-Massachusetts, and said “I forgot to mention that I will also fund moderate candidates in heavily Democratic districts so the country can get rid of those who don’t represent them.”

“When I worked for John Lewis in the ’60s, a lot of money and power was against us. We did what we had to do. And I don’t know a single Democrat who’s afraid of Elon Musk’s money because stay close to our constituents and we’ll overpower him. “, he added.
Prominent Democrats and members of the media viewed Musk as such the real presidentand not Trump, in recent weeks and have criticized the billionaire for his role in government as an unelected official.

CNN’s Scott Jennings weighed in on Democrats criticizing Musk’s role in government and said they should read Thursday’s Wall Street Journal report on President Biden, which says people have noticed problems with Biden’s stamina very early in his presidency.
“Unelected people have been running the government for the last four years. I hear Democrats criticizing the influence of billionaires on our politics when you have this Soros bum running around collecting Democratic politicians like my kids collect Pokémon cards,” Jennings said.
“I think all the criticism of Musk coming from the left is completely hypocritical, completely exaggerated,” he added.

Clyburn, a close Biden ally, as well helped convince the president to pardon his son Hunter Biden, despite months of saying he would not issue a pardon.
“I absolutely agree with that. I don’t know how many people talked him into doing it, but I did,” Clyburn revealed in another CNN appearance.
When asked by CNN’s Laura Coates about Biden’s reaction, Clyburn said, “He seemed a little reserved about it, but I emphasized the fact that we as fathers have responsibilities to our children.”
