Michael O’Sullivan, Jokej From Ireland who fell from his horse on Thurles racetrack, died more than a week after the fall, said the Irish Committee for Horses (IHRB) in a statement. He was 24 years old.
He fell from his horse during Races again on February 20th handicap Chase 6 February.

“Michael was an extremely talented young rider who was always popular in the room,” said IHRB Executive Director Darragh O’Loughlin in the edition. “Michael will deeply miss everyone in the races who had the pleasure of knowing him. Our hearts go out to Michael’s family, especially his parents Bernadette and William and his brother Alan, who will feel his loss most.”
Dr. Jennifer Pugh, Chief Medical Director of IHRB, said the O’Sullivan family decided to donate their organs.
“I had the privilege of knowing Michael through his amateur and professional career, and his commitment, modesty and kind nature always made his pleasure to be nearby,” Pugh added. “Michael’s success and his humility will inspire many, and I share a sense of loss today with all those who knew him.

“Michael’s family would like to repeat their gratitude for all the support they received in the last few days and expressed his gratitude to the local community and the race family. The O’sullivan family requested a privacy at the moment.”
O’Sullivan turned into 2022 and the following year at The Cheltenham Festival won the obstacle of supreme recruits at Cheltenham Festival to BBC. During his career he had 95 wins in Ireland and Britain.
