A Lyft driver was brutally attacked while driving in Texas, saying the driver cut his throat, tried to choke him and stole his car.
Dilaver Berk, 25, has been released from the hospital but remains bedridden and says he is grateful to be alive, according to fox 4.
A ride-share driver was picking up a man for a ride Monday when he was attacked from behind and his car was stolen, according to Frisian police.
The suspect, 19-year-old Antwain Williams, is charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and evading arrest. He also had an outstanding warrant for allegedly encouraging a child to have sex.

Berk now has stitches in his neck and bandages covering deep wounds on his arms.
Berk told police he picked up Williams while driving for Lyft Monday night Frisco, Texas.
When they arrived at Williams’ destination at the Legends at Legacy Apartments at 3700 Legacy Drive shortly before 6 p.m., Berk says the suspect attacked him from behind with a knife and then a cable or wire in an attempt to choke him.
“The rider put the knife to Dilaver’s throat and cut his throat. He did it several times,” Berk’s friend, Dustin Tovi, told Fox 4.

“Dilaver put his hands right in front of the knife and asked the rider, ‘Hey, whatever you want. Leave me alone.’ And then he had a wire to put his hand on and he got a lot of injuries on his fingers and neck because he was stabbed several times.
Frisco police said Williams stole Berk’s Toyota Camry and left it in the parking lot of an apartment building. A woman nearby helped Berk and called 911 to report the incident.
A few hours later, a patrol officer located the vehicle near Highway 423 and Rockhill. The police tried to stop the driver, but he ran away in an attempt to avoid the police.
Police said Williams crashed and tried to flee on foot, but was eventually arrested.
