Monty the Giant Schnauzer named Best in Show at the 149th Westminster Dog Show


The third time was a charm for Monty Giant Schanuzer in 149. Westminster show dog in Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.

This year, the competition was stiff with seven competitors who represented their breeds, and Monty Giant Schnauzer took away the victory in the working group for the third year in a row.

This, however, was Monty the first time he was declared the best in the show and the first time the working group won Westminster show dog Since 2004.

After the first two days of the competition was sequenced, Judge Paul Nykiel had a challenge to give the best in the exhibition only one of seven incredible dogs before settling at Monty.

This was her ninth year judged the show, and she says the job is “wonderful” but “heavy”.

Bourbon Whippet, a close winner, came out of a pension at the age of nine to represent Best in the Best show in the show, as well as winning the Hound group.

Bourbon has already been reserved twice in Westminster.

Below are the winners of the group and the details of their breeds, all the way American Breeder Club.

Neal Bichon Frisé won the unburdened group, Mercedes, a German Shepherd, won a group for the table, Comet The Shih Tzu won the toy group, Freddie, English Springer Spaniel won the sports group and Comet won the toy group.
