A gum-chewing, jacket-wearing Tyson Fury weighed in at 281 pounds and the unified heavyweight champion weighed in at 226 pounds at Friday’s weigh-in for a rematch in the main event tomorrow night on Saturday, Dec. 21, in Riyadh.
Fury’s weight is 21 pounds heavier than the 262 he weighed in his previous bout against Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) seven months earlier on May 18. After today’s weigh-in, Fury threw some aerial punches and looked powerful for him.

We don’t know if the extra weight will help Fury on Saturday night or hinder him against the lighter, faster and more athletic Usyk. We saw how the heavyweight division of the 1920s Primo Carner he failed to utilize his massive 280+ lb size when fighting smaller fighters.
Could this be the same situation for Fury on Saturday night? Bigger isn’t better when you’re going up against a talent like Usyk, and that could mean Fury will make more noise when he hits the canvas.

“I think a lot depends on what Tyson Fury brings to the fight. It was a close fight last time. People talk like it was white last time. It was a very competitive fight. Tyson will have to do something extraordinary tomorrow night.
“He is capable of it.” We’ve seen it in the past. Can he produce it tomorrow night? we will see. I’d like to see him do that. It’s great for boxing. The first fight was one of the best heavyweight fights I’ve ever seen. I’m so happy we’ll see a rematch. “Fury is good at it, but it’s very difficult to fight the size of Alexander Usyk at the same time,” Hearn said.
