Senate voted on Wednesday for the progress of the President Donald Trump Choose to run the Internal Affairs Department – Former Government of North Dakote Doug Burgum – for the final vote of confirmation.
Burgum appeared before the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources in mid -January, where he told the legislators that the issues of national security and economy were his two main priorities for conducting the agency.
“When energy production is limited in America, it does not reduce demand,” Burgum said in his introductory statement on January 16th. “This only shifts production to countries such as Russia and Iran, whose autocratic leaders not only do not care at all care of the environment, but they use their energy sale revenues to finance wars against us and our allies.”

Democratic senator Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, questioned Burgum about whether he would try to drill oil in national parks if Trump asked him.
“As part of my oath, I will follow the law and follow the Constitution. You can count on that,” Burgum said. “And I haven’t heard of anything that President Trump wanted to do anything other than improvement of energy production in favor of the American people.”

In addition, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, D-NEV, asked if Burgum supported the abolition of an electric vehicle loan that could be in danger under Trump’s administration.
“I support economics and markets,” Burgum said.
Burgum was the governor of North Dakota from 2016 to 2024. He also launched a presidential offer for the 2024 elections in June 2023, where energy and natural resources served as key questions during his campaign.

Burgum appeared during the first two Republican presidential discussions, but did not qualify for the third, and ended the campaign in December 2023. He then supported Trump for the GOP nomination a month later in front of an MP in Iowa.
